The master's degree in Nutrition and Public Health prepares graduates to fill a variety of planning, directing, instructional and administrative roles in government, community and public health agencies.
This M.S. degree focuses on the following four broad areas: food and nutrition science, research and evaluation, leadership and management, and culture and communication. Field work is an essential component of this M.S. degree and provides the opportunity through observation, discussion and participation in ongoing programs to gain a broad understanding of public health and the role of the public health nutritionist.
Students who pursue this master's degree are eligible to apply to the Dietetic Internship Program following completion of partial coursework for the M.S. and completion of other academic prerequisites.
Several courses required for this master's degree may be taken concurrently with the Dietetic Internship Program.
