Dietetic Internship Program

The Teachers College, Columbia University Dietetic Internship Program follows the Standards of Education of the American Dietetic Association (ADA) and provides students with internship experiences that meet those standards of knowledge, skills, and competences for entry-level dietetic practitioners. Students who successfully complete the training program are eligible to write the ADA registration examination to become a registered dietitian.

The Dietetic Internship Program is offered on a full-time basis and requires eleven months to complete. The concentration area is nutrition education.

For students with a bachelor's degree that does not include the ADA's required courses, arrangements can be made for students to take these courses concurrently with their Teachers College master's degree at undergraduate nutrition programs in the New York metropolitan area. There are a number of colleges in the area that offer the required courses. See Didactic Program in Dietetics.

The Dietetic Internship Program has practice facilities in New York City, Westchester County, Southern Connecticut, and New Jersey.
