Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD)
The DPD consists of a series of courses specified by The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) that prepares a student for a Dietetic Internship Program. Many of the M.S. courses are DPD courses, as are all of the M.S. prerequisite courses. Matriculated M.S. students are required to complete four additional DPD courses outside Teachers College: microbiology without lab, cultural foods with lab, food science with lab, and food service management. Microbiology can be completed at any accredited college or university, whereas cultural foods, food science, and food service management must be completed at Lehman College in New York City.
Upon your completion of the DPD courses, we will facilitate your "verification" of completion of the DPD, which will enable you to apply to our Dietetic Internship Program or any Dietetic Internship Program nationwide.
If you have completed an undergraduate degree in nutrition (thereby fulfilling the DPD requirement) and have had your coursework "verified" by an AND director, you may apply directly to the Teachers College Dietetic Internship Program. However, preference on admission is given to our M.S. graduates.

Dr. Lora Sporny is the Teachers College advisor to prospective students. Please participate in an audio information session with Dr. Sporny on the 2nd or 4th Saturday of any month.
