2013-2014 CA Selection and Recruitment Process
Do you enjoy helping people? Do you want to have an impact on the lives of your fellow residents? If you answered yes to these questions, you may be right for the Community Assistant position! You are cordially invited to attend an information session about the Community Assistant (CA) position.
2013-2014 Community Assistant Information Session Schedule:
Wednesday, December 12th, 12:00pm ~ 1:00pm. Location: Whittier Hall Cafe
Wednesday, January 23rd, 5:00pm ~ 6:00pm. Location: Whittier Hall Cafe
*Attendance to an information session is NOT required in order to be considered for a Community Assistant position*
Application Materials and Recruitment Time Frame:
*Applicants should be advised that the application packet includes the following items: The application itself, short answer essay questions, CA Recommendation form, and the recommendation questions. In addition, all applicants must include a copy of their current resume, which outlines their education, work experience, awards and extra-curricular activities.
**Applications will be accepted during the week of January 28th ONLY (1/28 ~ 2/1). Applicants should be advised that application materials (outside of completed recommendation forms) will NOT be accepted prior to January 28, 2013. No application materials will be accepted after 5:00pm on February 1st.

Candidates may drop their applications off directly to Amy R. Liss, Residential Services Coordinator (Suite 1B, Whittier Hall). Please note that applications will only be accepted Monday through Friday during normal business hours (9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.). Applicants utilizing this option should make sure to indicate whether or not their recommendation forms will be submitted separately from their application materials (e.g. the recommender is emailing, faxing or mailing them in to the Residential Services Coordinator).
Candidates may submit their application materials to the Residential Services Coordinator via email arl2140@tc.columbia.edu.
Candidates may submit their applications via US mail to the following address: Amy R. Liss, Office of Residential Services, 1230 Amsterdam Avenue, Suite 1B, New York, NY 10027. Applicants may also fax materials directly to the office: 212.678.3222 (Attn: Amy R. Liss).
Note: Recommendation forms may be submitted utilizing one of the aforementioned options. Candidates should be advised that all letters MUST come directly from the recommender and should have their signature across the back flap of the envelope (unless they are emailed or faxed). Recommendation letters are the only piece of the application that will be accepted prior to Monday, January 28th. NO OTHER MATERIALS WILL BE ACCEPTED PRIOR TO JANUARY 28TH.
