Welcome to Guest Housing at Teachers College, Columbia University! We offer accommodations to students, families, guests, staff, faculty members and affiliates of the Columbia community.
We are located at 517 West, 121st Street, New York, NY. Only steps away from the Columbia University community and a short walk to local eateries, shopping areas and subway stations.
Our accommodations are available year-round through the Office of Residential Services at Teachers College, Columbia University. We are located in a vibrant and historic neighborhood known as Morningside Heights.
Our Guest Housing building was built in 2004 and it includes 15 guest rooms designed to bring a feeling of comfort and relaxation to our guests.

Our standard rooms are furnished with central heat and a/c, microwave, refrigerator, color cable TV, an Ethernet cord, hairdryer, iron, dvd player, coffee maker, iHome radio with iPod docking station, luxury linens, and one double Simmons HealthSmart Beautyrest World-Class Feilicity Superpillow top bed.
Our ADA room has all of the same amenities as our standard rooms however this room has a twin size bed and a handicap accessible bathroom. This room can be reserved based on availability.

Guest Housing Policies and Payment
Check-In: 2 p.m.
Guests can retrieve their room key and arrival packet from the building front desk located at 517 West, 121st Street. Guest must be a minimum of 18 years old, with a valid photo ID to check-in.
Check-Out: 10 a.m.
Upon departure, guests must leave their room key at the front desk in the key drop box provided.
To make a reservation, please call (212) 678-3235 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday - Friday. During the summer months (June - August) our office closes at 3 p.m. on Fridays. A credit card is required to book a room, we accept Visa, MasterCard, AMEX and Discover. Guests must be a minimum of 18 years with valid photo ID to check-in.
Weekend departure and arrival will be booked and charged as three days (Friday, Saturday and Sunday). For example: If a guest checks out on Saturday, the guest will be charged for Saturday and Sunday night. If a guest checks in on Saturday, the guest will be charged for Friday night.
Cancellations must be received via phone or email in accordance with the below payment schedule to avoid any charges. Once charge has occurred, the full amount charged is non-refundable.
Your credit card will be charged according to the reservation type below:
2 business days in advance of your arrival date for stays less than 7 days
2 weeks in advance of your arrival date for stays 7 to 14 days
1 month in advance of your arrival date for stays longer than 14 days
1 month in advance of your arrival date if booking 6 or more rooms for any number of nights
Late Check-Out Policy
Late check-out is based on availability. Guests interested in a late check-out should call 212-678-3235 at least one business day prior to the departure date. Approved check-outs after 11am, but before 2pm will result in charge of half-day rate, and after 2pm will result in a charge of a full-day rate.
Guests can store luggage prior to check-in or after check-out at the Whittier Hall mail-room located at 1230 Amsterdam Avenue. Call our office to inquire about mail-room hours, the office opens at 9 a.m., Monday -- Friday, except for holidays.
Pets and smoking are not permitted anywhere in our Guest Housing building.
