Multiculturalism and Conflict

General Overview

This research will apply the insights and tools of complexity science and dynamical systems to the study of multiculturalism and conflict, particularly in an organizational context. This project, funded as a Multiple University Research Initiative (MURI) through the US Army Research Institute (ARI), aims to develop basic theory to better understand constructive negotiation and collaboration processes in Middle Eastern cultures. We presented the first study in this area at the IACM conference in Kyoto, Japan, and will be presenting subsequent research at IACM's conference in Istanbul, Turkey this Summer, 2011.
