New International Student Orientation
The Office of International Services invites you to attend New International Student Orientation. The orientation is for all new and incoming international students - and for anyone who feels 'international'! Come and meet returning students, OIS staff and interns, representatives from student associations and groups, and others. At orienatation you will also be able to learn more about:- OIS services
- Shopping and Entertainment
- Safety and Health
- Computing and Information Technology
- Navigating New York

No Reservation Required
F-1 Visa Orientation
F-1 students who are new to Teachers College (including F-1 students transferring to Teachers College from other institutions) are required to attend an F-1 Visa Orientation workshop. Attendance at this workshop is mandatory. At the visa orientation OIS staff will explain essential F-1 immigration rules and requirements, including those covering:
- Full-time Study
- Employment
- Travel and Re-entry
- Departure and Termination of Status
The OIS will announce a schedule for the F-1 visa orientation workshops during orientation day. Attendance at only one workshop is required. Or you may go to the Upcoming Events page to sign up when the dates are posted.
J-1 Visa Orientation
J-1 students who are new to Teachers College (including J-1 students transferring to Teachers College from other exchange visitor programs) are required to attend a J-1 Visa Orientation workshop. Attendance at this workshop is mandatory. At the visa orientation OIS staff will explain essential J-1 immigration rules and requirements, including those covering:
- Full-time Study
- Employment and Taxes
- Travel and Re-entry
- Departure and Termination of Status
