Opening Reception Honoring International Delegates, 7:00-9:00pm

Please join the Office of International Services, the Office of International Affairs and the Office of Admission for an evening with the diplomatic representatives of the international student body at Teachers College and TC community to celebrate the diversity that our international students bring to TC. President Fuhrman will welcome our guests. Performances by current TC students and scholars from Brazil, China, Colombia, and Ireland.

Lessons from Abroad Panel, 6:00- 7:30pm

Co-sponsored by: Alumni International Outreach Committee and TC Hechinger Institute on Education and the Media
Panelists will discuss their project, "Lessons from Abroad,'' a series of stories about how U.S. higher education compares with other countries. The journalists have traveled all over the world to investigate this question. The journalists will report on China, India, and Canada. TC students from these countries will also share their perspective on the topic. Reception to follow.

The Fulbright Program, the U.S. government's flagship program in international educational exchange, was proposed to the U.S. Congress in 1945 by then freshman Senator J. William Fulbright of Arkansas. Ms. Linda Tobash, Director of the University Placement Services at Institute of International Education (IIE) will share with us the vision, history, and the impact this program had on international education.
Mindfulness Workshop, 3:00-5:00PM

Come learn and experience a workshop leading you through mindfulness practices designed to challenge and stimulate the mind.
Cultural Extravaganza, 5:00-7:00PM

Sample an abundant variety of foods from around the world at TC’s annual International Cultural Extravaganza!Delicious foods will be served at 5:00PM and 6:15PM. Please also join us for performances by TC/CU students and guests. Performances include dances and music from around the globe!
Teaching around the World: Cultural Enrichment, 7:30PM-8:30PM

The Teaching around the World event features the stories of current TC students who have left their home countries to teach abroad. This year's panel will focus their experiences around the challenges surrounding identity and diversity negotiation. If you're looking to share your own experience, interested in teaching abroad after graduation, or are simply curious about this opportunity, you wouldn’t want to miss this event!

Career Services Power Session for International Students, 2-3pm

This interactive workshop is designed for international students who need assistance showcasing their expertise and achievements on their resume. It will focus not only on the main types, formats, and components of a resume, but additional challenges faced by international students including communication and culture gaps and developing relevant accomplishment statements.
