Masters Programs in Anthropology and Education
These programs are designed to prepare students to enter any of the many educational institutions, in the United States and around the world, that are dedicated to developing and implementing programs requiring the specific contribution of anthropology to their success.
Through their course work and practical experiences, students learn how to apply current anthropological understandings and methods in their professional work. Careers for students include working in governmental and non-governmental agencies concerned with education, including schools, as well as other educational institutions (medical, communicational, commercial, etc.) both in the United States and abroad.
These programs build on faculty expertise in several areas of application: particularly in ethnographic methods for educational analysis, informal education, urban education, global education in local contexts, literacy and technology.
