Research and scholarly interests: For my research I want to study the current socio-political discourse on Madrassa reform in South Asia, particularly in India. I hope to be able to compile and document cases on partnerships between Madrassas and the State as well as follow trends and patterns relating to factors that facilitate and hinder such partnerships. I anticipate this research to have relevant implications in modeling faith-development linkages in the country particularly with the aim of reforming educational opportunities for children. At the same time, I want to learn more about curriculum design and teacher training, as in the future I wish to engage with the reforms in Madrassa curriculum in India.
