Research and scholarly interests: I have several scholarly interests including the relationship between culture and language, language teaching and language ideology in the USA, and theories of race/ethnicity in relation to education. My dissertation proposes to address the relationship between the teaching of language and the teaching of culture in New York City public schools. I am also a high-school teacher of Spanish with a special interest in Spanish-speaking populations within the United States.
