Student Spotlight: Luz García shares her experience working for the EPA and the importance of science

Luz V. García, a doctoral student in the Science Education program, was featured in the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Science Matters Newsletter. Luz who also works as a physical scientist at EPA’s Division of Enforcement of Compliance Assistance. She has been the recipient of the EPA bronze medal four times, most recently in 2011 for her discovery of illegal pesticides entry at U.S. Customs and Border Protection in New York.
