TC's Jeff Henig: Income Gap in Education is "Stubborn"

In an interview with Education Sector, the education policy think tank, Henig says, "the gap between wealthier and lower-income students has been very stubborn, and by some measures has widened." He talks about the social costs of educational inequity, the record on mayoral control, and the end of "educational exceptionalism." Henig is Professor of Political Science and Education and chair of the Education Policy and Social Analysis Department. His latest book is The End of Exceptionalism in American Education: The Changing Politics of School Reform (Harvard Education Press, 2013).
