Writer Anna Quindlen Presents Keynote at Principals Conference

Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and bestselling author Anna Quindlen spoke at the Teachers College Reading and Writing Project Principals Conference on February 1st on the topic of "How Reading Changed My Life." Quindlen was the first woman to write the "About New York" column for The New York Times and the third woman in that publication's history to write a regular column for its influential Op-Ed page. She used her experience as a woman as the basis for her writing, and in 1992, won the Pulitzer Prize for her nationally syndicated column, "Public and Private." A collection of her columns, Thinking Out Loud (1993), was a national bestseller. Her novels include Object Lesson, One True Thing, and Black and Blue, the bestseller that was a selection of the Oprah Winfrey Book Club.
