FACULTY NOTES

Morton Deutsch, Professor Emeritus and founder of the International Center for Cooperation and Conflict Resolution, has been chosen to receive the Association for Psychological Science's James McKeen Cattell Fellow Award. The award recognizes APS members for a lifetime of outstanding contributions to the area of applied psychological research. Recipients must be APS members whose research addresses a critical problem in society at large. Honorees are recognized annually at the APS Convention, which will be held in Washington, D.C. this coming May 2007.

Stephen Silverman, Professor of Education and Program Coordinator in Physical Education, recently assumed the presidency of the American Academy of Kinesiology and Physical Education. The Academy's dual purpose is to promote the study and educational applications of the art and science of human movement and physical activity, and to elect members who have contributed significantly to the field of human movement and physical activity. The total number of active scholars is limited to 150 and, in just over 75 years, fewer than 475 scholars have been elected as Fellows-'"several of whom have been TC faculty members.
