Sage launches doctoral leadership programs

9/9/2007

The oldest of the baby boomers (people born between 1946 and 1964) this year turn 61. As more and more of them reach retirement age, the leadership positions they filled in education and nursing are suffering the loss.

That was what prompted The Sage Colleges to develop two new doctoral programs unlike any other in the area, said program directors Joan Dacher and Ann Myers.

Charles Dedrick whom is now the District Superintendent of Cohoes Central School said, "I've always been interested in pursuing a doctoral program. One of the things I like about Sage's program is that the group of students I start with I'll finish with. We'll stay together through the course of study. That's similar to Teachers College at Columbia University. And it's local," he said.
