The President's Grant for Student Research in Diversity is designed to provide support for outstanding student research projects that focus on diversity in research, teaching, learning or community building.

Receiving the grants are: Annie Smiley, a student in the International Educational Development Program, and Grace Clarke Hillyer, a student in the Health Education Program. In addition to Smiley and Hillyer, Hakim Williams, a doctoral student in the International Educational Development Program, has received a $1,000 honorable mention award.
Smiley will use the funding to support her dissertation research on scholarships for orphans and vulnerable children in Lesotho.
