             Ameena Ghaffar-Kucher (Ed.D. '08), a Senior Lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania, and Lesley Bartlett, TC's Associate Professor of Education, will receive the 2014 Jackie Kirk Outstanding Book Award from the Comparative and International Education Society (CIES) for Refugees, Immigrants and Education in the Global South (Routledge, 2013).     We are proud to announce the names of the alumni whom have been selected by their peers to receive this year's Distinguished Alumni & Early Career Awards which will be honored at Academic Festival 2014: James Gordon (Ed.D. '85), Professor and Associate Dean, Division of Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy at the University of Southern California; David W. Johnson (Ed.D. '66), Full Professor in the Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Minnesota; Deborah Kenny (Ph.D. '94), Founder and CEO of Harlem Village Academies; Kate Parry (Ed.D. '86), Full Professor in Linguistics in the English Department at Hunter College; and Early Career Award recipient Eric Shyman (Ed.D. '09), Assistant Professor of Special Education at Dowling College.

               What does life after EPSA look like?  Alumni, share your insights with students on pursuing jobs in the field of education policy and social analysis on Thursday, March 27 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. in  Milbank Chapel at TC.  All four EPSA programs will be represented: Economics and Education, Education Policy, Politics and Education, and Sociology and Education.
