Allegrante is President of Society for Public Health Education

Professor John Allegrante took office as president of the Society for Public Health Education for 1997-'98 at the Society's annual meeting in Indianapolis in November. The Society is an international, nonprofit professional organization that promotes health through education. It publishes Health Education & Behavior, a bimonthly peer-reviewed journal that includes research on critical health issues.
Allegrante, a Professor of Health Education, is a behavioral scientist who is currently investigating the role of behavioral and educational intervention in the prevention of arthritis-related disability. The five-year project is supported by the National Institutes of Health and the Arthritis Foundation.
