The Return of Basic Grammar

Ruth Vinz, associate professor and coordinator of English education at Teachers College, was recently quoted in a Chicago Sun Times article printed on April 26, "Kids Return to Basics of Grammar." The article discussed how basic grammar is making a comeback in Chicago schools and elsewhere. On incorporating grammar instruction in the classroom, Professor Vinz said that teachers should focus on reoccurring problems that a student makes, and then have the student correct that particular error in their writing.For more information, go to http://www.suntimes.com/
