Nation on Edge about September 11 Travel
Even with increased security and police planning, as well as
discount rates from travel and tourism businesses, many people are
hesitant to travel on September 11th this year.
Dr. George Bonanno, a trauma and grief expert at Teachers College,
Columbia University, believes that the increased anxiety surrounding
the first anniversary of the terrorist attacks is not surprising.
"People will get a little unhinged," Bonanno said. "Our memories are
largely dependent on cues. So the anniversary of the attacks is
going to make people uncomfortable."
