According to Professor Jeanne Brooks-Gunn's research, women may experience perks from pregnancy in addition to the birth of a baby. While negative symptoms such as nausea, fatigue, and discomfort are what many consider common, there are also benefits sometimes overlooked. According to her survey findings, expectant mothers reported feeling "very energized and positive during the second and third trimesters," said Brooks-Gunn who teaches in the developmental psychology program.
