Panel members announced for 'Voices' forum in Wilton

A panel of three speakers will discuss the issues of free expression in public schools, followed by an opportunity for the public to ask questions and to comment on the issues raised.

This event was planned in response to the heated controversy surrounding the student play, “Voices in Conflict.” The three panelists for the program are Martin Margulies, William Gaudelli, and Leah Cohen. Steve Hudspeth will moderate the discussion.

William Gaudelli is associate professor of social studies and education in the Department of Arts and Humanities at Teachers College-Columbia University. He is a frequent presenter at professional development meetings, a consultant to school districts, an invited speaker at various national conferences, and has guest lectured in Europe and Africa. Dr. Gaudelli has published a variety of pieces in scholarly journals, and two books, World Class: Teaching and Learning in Global Times and Social Inequality in the Global Culture. He serves on the awards committee of the John Dewey Society and on the executive board of the journal, Theory and Research in Social Education. He will address the role of the arts in public education.
