  • Center on Chinese Education Created at TC

    In this time of globalization and high-speed communication, learning about other cultures and ways of life has become necessary to successful communication and international relations. Teachers College now has a new link to Chinese education thanks to a new center. The Center on Chinese Education (CoCE) at Teachers College, established in July, is devoted to policy research, training, and dissemination on education in China, as well as to educational exchanges between the United States and China.

    Karen Zumwalt, who has served as Dean and Vice President for Academic Affairs for the past five years, returned to full-time teaching and research on July 15, 2000.

  • Faculty Adds Thirteen in Fall Semester, Two in Spring

    The Dean's Office announced this summer that 13 new faculty members will begin teaching this fall, and at least two more will join the ranks in January. Additionally, two minority postdoctoral fellows will arrive in September.

  • Petrides Receives $1.2 Million Grant

    Assistant Professor of Education Lisa Petrides recently received a grant for $1.2 million to assist the Foothill DeAnza Community Collge District (FHDA), located near San Jose, California in the heart of Silicon Valley, in the redesign of institutional research.
