Randi Weingarten, newly elected President of the American Federation of Teachers, spoke with education reporters at the annual seminar for new education reporters held by TC's Hechinger Institute on Education and the Media.

"You are a really important translator, you translate and communicate, whether its in news print or on the internet, really complicated concepts," said Weingarten, "And education is one of those really complicated concepts. It gets morphed into who is right and who is wrong."
