TC Joins in Haiti Relief Effort

The TC community has responded to the earthquake in Haiti. A drive mounted by the College’s Office of Diversity and Community sent 25 bags of clothes, food, shoes and bedding to Port au Prince through the Afya Foundation and a similar offering to the towns of Jacmel and Leogan. Tatiana Garakani, ’09, a United Nations disaster relief team member, coordinated some 1,800 rescuers and 160 search dogs looking for survivors. Andy Auguste, Assistant Director of Student Activities and Programs, whose parents emigrated from Haiti in the 1970s, promoted the TC Student Senate’s effort to raise money for Haiti relief efforts.
