There are two immunization requirements that all new students must meet before the designated deadlines (August 1, 2009 for students entering in Summer 2009 or Fall 2009; January 15, 2009 for students entering in Spring 2010):
New York State public health law requires that college and university students taking six or more points to provide documentation of immunity to measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) before their first term of study. There are several ways to document immunity. The options are described on the Teachers College -'Immunization Form' found in your admissions acceptance folder. For more information or to download another copy of the form, please visit the Office of Insurance and Immunization web site.
New York State public health law also requires that college and university students receive information from their institutions about meningococcal meningitis and the vaccine that protects against most strains of the disease that must occur on university campuses. Teachers College students must make an informed decision about being vaccinated and certify their decision either online or by using the paper form described above. Students wishing to certify their decision online may do so by logging onto to the Student Information System. The Meningitis Vaccination Response page can be found by first clicking 'Student Services & Financial Aid' and then on 'Student Records.'
