Center for Benefit-Cost Studies of Education (CBCSE)

CBCSE conducts economic research on the benefits and costs of alternative educational policies and interventions. 



EdLab is a research, design, and development unit at Teachers College, Columbia University. EdLab envisions and pilots knowledge projects for a fundamentally different education sector that is attuned to the emerging post-industrial, information-based world. 


International Center for Cooperation & Conflict Resolution (ICCCR)

ICCCR is an innovative center committed to developing knowledge and practice to promote constructive conflict resolution, effective cooperation, and social justice. ICCCR partners with individuals, groups, organizations, and communities to create tools and environments from which conflicts can be resolved constructively and just and peaceful relationships can develop. ICCR works with sensitivity to cultural differences and emphasizes the links between theory, research, and practice.


National Center for the Study of Privatization in Education (NCSPE)

NCSPE provides independent, non-partisan information on and analysis of privatization in education. The Center's program includes research, evaluation, conferences, publications, and dissemination on a full range of issues regarding privatization of education from pre-school to higher education, both national and international.

American Association of School Administrators (AASA): 
AASA's mission is to support and develop effective school system leaders who are dedicated to the highest quality public education for all children. 

American Educational Research Association (AERA): 
AERA is concerned with improving the educational process by encouraging scholarly inquiry related to education and evaluation and by promoting the dissemination and practical application of research results. Boasts over 25,000 members. 

Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO): 
The Council of Chief State School Officers is a nationwide, nonprofit organization composed of public officials who lead the departments responsible for elementary and secondary education in the states, the US extra state jurisdictions, the District of Columbia, and the Department of Defense Education Activity. In representing the chief education officers, CCSSO works on behalf of state agencies that serve pre K-12 students throughout the nation.

Education Commission of the States (ECS)
The mission of the Education Commission of the States is to help state leaders identify, develop and implement public policy for education that addresses current and future needs of a learning society. 


National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS)

Our mission is to serve and strengthen our member schools and associations by 'articulating and promoting high standards of educational quality and ethical behavior; to work to preserve their independence to serve the free society from which that independence derives; to advocate broad access for students by affirming the principles of diversity, choice, and opportunity.

National School Boards Association (NSBA)
The mission of the National School Boards Association, working with and through all of its Federation Members, is to foster excellence and equity in public education through school board leadership.

NSBA Council of School Attorneys
The mission of the NSBA Council of School Attorneys is to support school attorneys in their representation of public school boards by providing leadership in legal advocacy for public schools. 


Publications and Research

The pioneering Web site that sets the standard for K-12 educational Internet resources. It contains many full-text documents, which summarize useful research, plus a collection of lesson plans, and archives of discussion groups (i.e., LM_NET, K12ADMIN, EdNet).
