Hector Joshua Galindo

B.S in Pre-Medical Biology from the University of Texas-Pan American in 2010. Joshua, a Teach For America alumni, began his career in education in the Lower Rio Grande Valley over two years ago where he taught 9th grade Biology and 10th grade Chemistry. Joshua is currently the 9th grade Biology teacher at IDEA San Benito College Preparatory, a charter school in south Texas that prepares students from underserved communities for success in college and citizenship. After his first year of teaching, Joshua became the Team Leader for 9th grade. As team leader, he supports a team of teachers and is responsible for attendance, discipline, and the academic success of his students in all subject areas. Joshua is currently an AMGEN fellow and a member of the Skillful Teacher Cohort through Research for Better Teaching. Joshua aspires to become a school leader dedicated to creating an environment where innovation and risk-taking play a fundamental role in the fostering of educational change.
