Welcome to the Social-Organizational Psychology Program
The comprehensive examination may be taken after a student has completed the core courses (level 1) - preferably one semester prior to graduation. The exam covers all of the major topic areas in social-organizational psychology. Exams will be given three times a year; once in the Fall, Spring and Summmer. Exam dates will be announced via e-mail during the Fall semester.
Additional Rules (not exhaustive):
(1) You must have completed the following Core Level 1 courses: Functions of Organizations, Organizational Psychology, Understanding Behavioral Research, Human Resource Management.
(2) You must have received a C+ or better in each of these Core Level 1 courses.
(3) You should have completed or should be in the process of completing 32 of your 45 credits.
(4) You must come, in person, to pick up the Comp Exam because we need your signature on the "contract".
(5) If you pick it up, you must sit for the Exam. If you don't, it will count as a failure.
(6) You must pass with an 80% on the Comp Exam.
(7) You may only take the Comp Exam twice. If you fail more than two times you may not be allowed to continue study in the MA Program.
Fall Comprehensive Exam Dates
Info Session: Monday, October 27th, 2008 - time and location: TBA (will be about 1 hour)
Comp Pick Up: Friday, October 31st, 2008 - all day and anytime thereafter
Comp Exam: Friday, November 21st, 2008 - 1pm - 4pm, location: TBA
