Tina Acker is the Principal at Vernon Elementary School, an International Baccalaureate PYP and MYP School in Portland Public Schools. She has worked in schools in Oregon and Georgia. Tina has served as a teacher, instructional specialist, assistant principal, and principal. She has also served as a mentor to new teachers and aspiring administrators. Mrs. Acker is Past President of the Confederation of Oregon School Administrators, the Portland State University Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi- International Honor Society in Education and the North Clackamas Administrators Association. Tina completed the National Principal’s Mentor Program through the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) in 2008 and is currently a program coach. She has also worked as an adjunct faculty member at Concordia University in the College of Education, and an Administrator Internship Coach at Columbia University’s Teacher College in New York. Mrs. Acker is the NAESP State Representative for Oregon. She has represented Oregon in Washington, DC, participating in the NAESP National Leaders Conference for the past five years. Tina received her BS in Child and Family Studies and MEd in Education from Portland State University. Post graduate work was also completed at Portland State University.
