Viola Abbott
A principal at PS 11 for eight years, Violet also served as Assistant Superintendent and Local Instruction Superintendent for the New York City Department of Education prior to her retirement in 2005. She is a Columbia University doctoral student candidate and participated in the Principals’ Institute at Bank Stree College. She earned her B.A. in Elementary Education at Virginia Union University and M.S. in Teaching the Gifted at Long Island University as well as an M.A. in Supervision and Administration at Brooklyn College.
