Viviana Toure

B.A. in English, B.S. in Elementary Education, Southern Connecticut State University; M.A. in Special Education, concentration in Bilingual Education, Fairfield University; Ed.M. in Education Leadership, Teachers College, Columbia University. Teaching certifications in K-6 mainstream and bilingual education; K-12 special education, Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) and English as a Second Language (ESL). Viviana began her teaching career in her hometown: Stamford, CT where she served as an elementary school Bilingual Teacher to students from Central and South America. During her seven years of teaching experience, Viviana has taught in co-teaching models, mentored teachers and served as a grade level leader. Throughout her experience, she has continuously developed herself as a professional educator by serving as a member of her district’s Best Practices Committee to find effective ways to assess student work; she has used her ESL skills to teach English to students in China for a semester and, most recently, she served as a middle school Special Education Teacher in addition to serving as the Program Coordinator for academic and recreational after school programs.
