Kimberly Heinsman

Kimberly Heinsman is a middle school general science teacher at The Graham School in Hastings-on-Hudson, NY. The Graham School is a Special Act School that services students that are at-risk and strives to mold them into students that learn and thrive. Kimberly has engaged in the creation of an Animal-Assisted Activity Program that augments students’ science education and exposes students to the observation and care of exotic animals. In addition, in the capacity of Lead Science teacher, Kimberly has written, organized, and implemented a hands-on, inquiry-based, multi-sensory elementary/middle school science curriculum. She received a B.S. from Pace University in 2001 and a M.A. from Teachers College in 2004. As a member of the New York City Summer Principals Academy 2012 cohort, Kimberly looks forward to working with aspiring school leaders who seek to develop opportunities that foster student growth, social opportunity and school improvement.
