HPSE Peer Advisors

The Higher and Post Secondary Education

Program is fortunate to have a number of

student peer advisors who are available to

help new students transition into our

program, Teachers College, and New York

City.  Upon being accepted, each new

student is paired with a current student who

is in the same degree program and shares many of the same interests.

The purpose of the peer advisors is to provide new students with advice on a variety of issues, such as classes to take, organizations to join, and conferences in which to participate.  Peer advisors will also be able to provide guidance on taking advantage of living in New York City as well as the many curricular and extra-curricular opportunities and Columbia University.  Peer advisors will communicate via email or over the phone before new students arrive on campus.

If you have been admitted to our program and want to be provided with the name of your peer advisor or have questions, please contact Mr. Scott Van Pelt at sjv2110@tc.columbia.edu.
