Oman
Teachers College is collaborating with the Sultinate of Oman to assist in the ongoing development of support for individuals with disabilities. In 2009, Oman joined a growing number of countries that signed and eventually ratified the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, establishing the Welfare and Care of Persons with Disability Law, and creating a National Committee of Disabled Persons Welfare. The intent of this global treaty is to assist in the national implementation, monitoring and support of already existing work that is being done by individual countries in order to further the education, full participation and inclusion in society, independence, equality, accessibility and support of individuals with disabilities. TC's role involves assessing and advising on practices and policies in support of individuals with disabilities.
