2000 Conductive Education Symposium

Birmingham, England September, 2000

The conductive education paradox "It's wonderful, but what exactly is it?" Defining critical variables. Paper presentation at the international symposium on conductive education sponsored by the National Institute for Conductive Education, Birmingham, England.

This report presented "pilot" data obtained from New York and Michigan educational sites which were running conductive education(CE) programs during 1999-2000. The project is developing assessment tools which might be useful in profiling family variables and measuring "levels of effort" and motivation of a child while involved in a CE program. This research was made possible as a result of a mini-grant from the National Center for Disability Services (NCDS) in New York who partnered with faculty and students of Teachers College, Columbia University.
