John C. Welch, Ed.D., M.T.S., M.B.A. is an author and professional speaker on topics related to influence, leadership, power, and grit. He is the author of Mastering the Power of Grit, and he hosts the Classic Influence Podcast (available on iTunes). Dr. Welch teaches a course at Columbia entitled Creating Revolutionary Change in a Democratic Society. Deeply concerned about the future of American democracy, he also works part-time as the National Campaign Manager for the movement to launch the new Progressive Bull Moose Party. He earned his doctorate from the Department of Organization and Leadership at Columbia. Johnny currently lives in San Diego and, in his free time, enjoys weightlifting, running, traveling and, above all, surfing on some clean, hollow, warm water waves.
