Ms. Clarisse Mendoza

UELP Student and Chief of Schools at the Maya Angelou Public Charter Schools-See Forever Foundation in Washington, D.C.

Ms. Mendoza, UELP Student from 2011 cohort, is the Chief of Schools at the Maya Angelou Public Charter Schools-See Forever Foundation in Washington, D.C. In this role, Ms. Mendoza leads teaching and learning for opportunity and incarcerated youth. Over the last 10 years, Ms. Mendoza has served children, youth, and families in urban schools across the United States. After teaching high school English in the District of Columbia Public Schools, Ms. Mendoza was the Principal of Tindley Renaissance Academy in Indianapolis, Indiana, and the Deputy Chief of Schools at the UNO Charter School Network in her hometown of Chicago.  

Ms. Mendoza received her Master of Arts in Teaching from American University in Washington, D.C., and her Bachelor of Arts in English and Music from Loyola University Chicago.
