The Education Leadership Program in the Department of Organization and Leadership
B.A. in American Studies, Rutgers College; M. Ed. in Early Childhood Education, University of Illinois. Stephen comes to Teachers College as a seasoned practitioner with extensive experience in education. He has taught pre-kindergarten through fifth grade in Champaigne, Illinois, first grade in Orlando, Florida and currently works as a fourth grade teacher at P.S. 48 in the Hunts Point section of the South Bronx. While at P.S. 48, Stephen took his knowledge of journalism and his experience as an undergraduate journalism instructor to create a school newspaper with third and fourth graders. In addition to being a teacher, Stephen is an athlete who competed with the University of Ghana’s track and field team and has finished the New York City marathon as well as an Iron Man triathlon in Florida.
