A literacy initiative that helps children to think like
creative entrepreneurs – and draw like Matt Groening - reaches 10,000 children in
The Comic Book Project engages children in writing, designing, and publishing original comic books on topical themes, such as the environment, money and real-life superheroes. The books are published and exhibited city-wide.
At the outset, teachers attend a three-hour training session and learn how to apply and develop 16 one-hour lesson plans.
TC serves as a home for the national project, which now runs 60 after-school programs..
