Curriculum Support

A literacy initiative that helps children to think like creative entrepreneurs – and draw like Matt Groening - reaches 10,000 children in New York City

The Comic Book Project engages children in writing, designing, and publishing original comic books on topical themes, such as the environment, money and real-life superheroes. The books are published and exhibited city-wide.

At the outset, teachers attend a three-hour training session and learn how to apply and develop 16 one-hour lesson plans.

TC serves as a home for the national project, which now runs 60 after-school programs..

Materials may be purchased online for $6 per student but some schools are eligible to receive them for free.  Visit: www.comicbookproject.org, or call: (212) 330-7444.
