A DOCTORAL program that fits around full-time work prepares practicing school administrators for system leadership.

Students meet in July and then on weekends throughout the fall and spring semesters for three years. Areas of study span a broad range of themes, including leadership for learning and development; organization and management; policy, politics, and law; community development and advocacy; and research methods.

The 90-credit program is directed by Arlene Ackerman, former superintendent of the San Francisco Unified School District and the 2005-6 chair of the Council of Great City Schools.
