Standfirst: Free motor skills therapy
LEARNING to dress, catch a ball and hold a book are among the achievements of children attending intensive therapy sessions at TC’s Center for Cerebral Palsy Research.
The treatment, developed through clinical tests over the last ten years, involves three weeks of free therapy for six hours a day outside of school hours. This compares with one year of normal healthcare service, and has the added benefit of a flexible schedule. Parents also learn how to help their children with homework, identify learning goals and adapt the home setting to build on work done in schools.
