The new Steps to Success program, run by The
Institute for Urban and Minority Education (IUME) offers cultural
enrichment activities to second and third grade boys in collaboration
with the Children’s Aid Society. The boys also partake in an after
school program two days a week held at
IUME, which is dedicated to the social and educational development of urban minority students, also runs a college preparation program with Harlem Children’s Zone.
For parents and the wider community IUME provides an online database of supplementary education and after-school programs. The free listing includes programs and services in academic enrichment and tutoring, cultural activities and sports, arts and recreation.
