About the International Pre-Graduate Program

The program offers international students an opportunity to gain valuable experiences . Students will experience graduate study in advance of their official graduate coursework, and will have a chance to practice language and cultural competency skills in an authentic graduate school classroom.

Our non-credit workshop/training sessions offer:

  • Customized English Proficiency Training on Academic Reading, Writing and Speaking
  • Academic Cultural Competence Training / Workshops
  • Graduate School Application Guidelines
  • Campus Visit to other universities

IPGP students are eligible to participate in all Teachers College students’ activities, organized or sponsored by Student Development and Activities. IPGP students are also welcome to attend Teachers College information sessions hosted by the offices of Admission and Financial Aid. We hope the International Pre-Graduate program will enhance international students' future academic endeavors in the United States.

Curriculum

The English Proficiency Training will be customized for students in terms of their English proficiency levels. Our experienced language teachers will provide customized instruction and guidelines based on individuals' strengths and weaknesses. Through instruction, panel discussion, cross-cultural and admission application process workshops and campus visits, we hope to help international students to acclimate seamlessly to academic culture in the United States.

IPGP students are encouraged to make appoitments with the above instructors and enrollment staff for 1 on 1 Advisement.
