SASC Subcommittees

All full-time non-union staff members are encouraged and invited to serve on any subcommittee.

The Communications Subcommittee is dedicated to facilitating comprehensive and transparent communication between SASC and the full-time, non-union staff they represent. This committee will use the SASC website and email listserv to market and archive SASC programming, notices, newsletters and other communications that are used to build awareness and community at the College.

The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Subcommittee aspires to play a leading role in advancing staff diversity and inclusion at TC. The committee, made up of members from across the College, strives to cultivate an inclusive workplace community that values, leverages, and develops the diverse talent at TC.

In partnership with Human Resources (HR) and other units across TC. The HR & Outreach Subcommittee’s objective is to engage and strengthen collaborative partnerships for full-time, non-union staff across the College community by promoting and fostering a network of information sharing and providing updates on staff engagement events and activities, promoting work-life balance, creating an equitable and inclusive campus environment for growth and development of non-union staff, and ensuring a cohesive community.

The Bylaws Committee meets as needed to review and suggest updates to the SASC Mission and Bylaws. The current Bylaws are available here.

The Personal/Professional Development & Wellness Subcommittee will be responsible for curating and promoting professional development (PD) and wellness opportunities for full time, non-union staff provided by SASC and/or the College. The Subcommittee will encourage and support professional development for full time non-union staff through professional development opportunities and the use of the Employee Performance Management Module.

The Membership & the TC Buddy Program Subcommittee focuses on generating interest in SASC and building community through peer-to-peer mentorship.

The goal of the TC Buddy Program is to provide new colleagues with a great onboarding experience. The program will pair new employees with a peer who is knowledgeable, positive, supportive, dependable, and motivated. They will introduce their new newer colleague to the campus culture at Teachers College, will be a resource outside of HR, and will offer advice and guidance regarding working at TC.
