Information on Artists Working Group (1989) Discipline: Arts / General Abstract: In the Fall of 1989, representatives from the artists, arts service and arts funding communities joined Research Center staff members to develop strategies for translating the Center's newly gathered artist information into a useful form for practitioners. Labor Relations and the Arts (1985) Discipline: Arts / General Abstract: In Spring 1985, Columbia University's School of the Arts and Cornell University's School of Industrial and Labor Relations co-sponsored a conference on labor relations and the performing arts. The edited proceedings from that conference, plus additional articles, were published as two special issues of the Journal of Arts Management and Law. Research on Artists (2000) Discipline: Arts / General Abstract: A Working Conference at Princeton University: May 24-25, 2000 A collaboration between the Research Center for Arts and Culture and Princeton University’s Center for Arts and Cultural Policy Studies, the conference brought together an international set of scholars in order to encourage methodological innovation by sharing approaches in the field, enable leading artist researchers from around the world to discuss issues of shared concern, and develop projects that will advance the field of artist research. Two of the conference’s projects, Bibliography: Research on Artists and Studies of Artists: An Annotated Bibliography, are available via links from this site. Seminar in Arts Management and Arts Law Location: Budapest, Hungary Discipline: Arts / General Abstract: Seminar in Arts Management and Arts Law took place in Budapest. Thirty-five arts managers, artists and nonprofit lawyers discussed management and philanthropy for the arts and culture in a civil society in Hungary. St. Petersburg 2003 (2003) Location: St. Petersburg, Russia Discipline: Arts / General Abstract: A decade long partnership between CEC International Partners and the city of St. Petersburg, Russia uses RCAC to develop position papers and curriculum materials.
