Audience participation in the arts has become of premier importance over the past several years. The number of studies documenting the public opinion of and public participation in the arts has grown dramatically in the United States and abroad. The Center adds to the discourse by examining in-depth the public’s relationship to the arts and to individual artists. Both research and lectures explore the public’s interest in the arts and artists as well as how the arts can better meet the needs of the public. This work creates a forum for discussion on ways the arts and the public can work together to meet the needs of each other and society-at-large.
