HBSS 4116: Health education for teachers
As part of teacher certification in New York and other states, students must be trained in the following health areas: reporting child abuse, instruction in alcohol and other drugs, and school violence prevention. This course satisfies these requirements and reviews theory and research on childrens health and health behavior change. Students will learn how to develop health-related lesson plans and how to identify, prevent, or intervene on behalf of children at risk or presenting with social-emotional or physical health problems.
